Presidential approval of the proposed national budget for fiscal year 2017-18 and fiscal year 2016-17 (fiscal year 2016-17).
Abdul Hamid Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith on Thursday approved the budget proposal before the parliament.
The President approved the budget at his office in the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban. Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith, Senior Secretary of the Economic Department Mahbub Ahmed and NBR Chairman Najibur Rahman were also present.A budget of Tk 4,266 crore has been proposed for the new fiscal year titled 'Bangladesh on the Highway of Development: Now Time'.The size of this budget is 26 percent more than the budget of the current fiscal year 3 lakh 40 thousand 605 crore. And the revised budget for this fiscal year is Tk 84 thousand crore more than Taka 3 lakh 17 thousand 174 crore.
