Sylhet Medical College has been declared as the fourth medical university of the country. All preparations have been completed in this regard.
In the presence of Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith in the Ministry of Finance at the Secretariat, Health Minister Mohammad Nasim announced this.The Health Minister said-''today I have come to the Finance Minister's meeting to give an important announcement''. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina announced on 21 January 2016 in Sylhet that there will be another medical university in Bangladesh, which will be in Sylhet. Today I'm going to implement that announcement.He said, the Prime Minister announced, then the Finance Minister reminded me with the letter, when the Medical University in Sylhet is going to be? We received the approval of the prime minister's offer. The decision to set up a medical university in Sylhet has been taken. The principle of the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University, Rajshahi and Chittagong Medical University has been in Sylhet Medical University in the same policy.
