According to the day, the World Environment Day is scheduled to be celebrated on 5 June, but the country will be celebrated on 4 June this year.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the World Environment Day and National Tree Plantation Campaign, Environment and Expatriates in three months from here as Chief Guest at the Bangabandhu International Conference Center.This year, the theme of the Environment Day is nature bonding and the day's slogan 'I am nature, my nature'.Environment and Forest Minister Anwar Hossain Manju said at a press conference that the government has been making sincere efforts to protect the forests and the environment.The ministry's image has increased significantly in comparison to the previous year.Acting secretary Ishtiaq Ahmed was also present at the press conference. He said media plays a vital role in preventing environmental pollution.
