Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina announced in a historic public meeting in Sylhet on 21 January, 2016. There will be another medical university in the country, in Sylhet. She said-when the Prime Minister announced that the finance minister then reminded me with the letter when the medical university in Sylhet was going to be. We received the approval of the Prime Minister's announcement. It has been decided to set up medical universities in Sylhet. Sylhet Medical University has been in the same policy as the principles of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University, Rajshahi and Chittagong Medical University.
