The two leaders' agreement to strengthen Bangladesh-Austria relations

The two leaders of the two countries reached the agreement to further strengthen bilateral relations including trade and investment. In addition, a Memorandum of Understanding between Austria and Bangladesh was signed to hold regular diplomatic talks after two leaders meeting in the Federal Chancellor of Austria.Foreign Secretary Shahidul Haque said the two leaders agreed to further strengthen the friendly relations between the two countries. Earlier, Sheikh Hasina herself visited the West Europe country twice. But after independence, this was the first time in the last four decades that any government head of Bangladesh had a visit to Austria.The Foreign Secretary also said that bilateral meetings in Vienna have been discussed in relation to the end of terrorism and militancy. She mentioned about various initiatives taken by Bangladesh government to stop terrorism and militancy. Terrorism and militancy can not be eliminated by using military pressure. Rather, the citizens of all sections of society should be aware of it and have to create resistance.
