BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said that the election environment has not yet created in Bangladesh.
He said- ''There must be a route for elections, then the roadmap, but that is not the route.There is no scope for the opposition to speak yet. There is no chance of normal activities''.He also said these while talking to the BNP chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia at the Zia's grave at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar on Tuesday,for marking the 36th anniversary of BNP founder and late President Ziaur Rahman.Fakhrul said-"The opposition party, especially the BNP activists were arrested in jail. In this unequal circumstances, fair elections are not possible in the country. Therefore, whether given any roadmap, the first condition should be given equal opportunities for all parties and false cases should be withdrawn.The BNP thinks it will be justified to talk about roadmap.He further said-"People will not be united and will not allow elections to be held in 2014 and will not accept it.However, an inclusive election can be done through equal opportunities to all''.
