Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has urged the countrymen to apply for the development of the country, which is spent due to the use of tobacco products and the diseases caused by it.
She said-''We need a healthy and vigorous population to build a developed and prosperous Bangladesh''.PM urged to create awareness against tobacco all over the country on Wednesday (31th May).Prime Minister called on a message made on Tuesday on the occasion of World No Tobacco Day.The object of the day is 'Tobacco Development Barrier'. Sheikh Hasina said that with the combined efforts of all,we will be able to make Bangladesh free from tobacco-free production as a developed and prosperous country by 2041.She said that tobacco consumption and smoking in the developing world have been increasing steadily. About 80 percent of tobacco users live in low and middle income countries. The government has implemented a number of steps including increasing public awareness by highlighting the harmful effects of tobacco use.
