In the pre-budget discussion of fiscal year 2017-18 in the National Board of Revenue (NBR) meeting on Monday afternoon, the organization's president Sirajul Islam Mollah said this.Sirajul Islam Mollah said that all ceramic products are now made in the country. The import of raw materials used in this industry is taxable from 33 percent to 90 percent. As a result of the increased production costs, the profitability of the competitive market has narrowed down. This is due to the industrial crisis due to not increasing gas prices and GSP facilities. In this situation, we propose to completely withdraw the import duty on the raw materials, materials and parts of the ceramic industry, supplementary duty and regulatory duty.
