Bangladesh has requested India to make an interim agreement in light of the two countries signed the agreement on the sharing of Teesta water in January 2011.
This is said in a joint statement after Prime Minister Narendra Modi's talks with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the Indian capital on Saturday.It is said in the statement that the Bangladeshi Prime Minister requested this in a formal discussion with Narendra Modi Narendra Modi said that his government is working with everyone in India to make a quick deal on this matter.It is further said that the two Prime Ministers directed the concerned officials to discuss various aspects related to the distribution of common rivers, such as Feni, Manu, Muhuri, Khowai, Gomti, Dharla and Dudhkumar.
