BGMEA president Siddiqur Rahman has demanded to stop the tax on the source for at least two years as the export sector.
He made this demand at the pre-budget discussion meeting of the BGMEA and BKMES in different sectors of the economy in the capital city of Segunbagicha on Wednesday, 2017-2018.BGMEA has proposed a total of 12 topics in the discussion meeting.BGMEA President Siddiqur Rahman said, 'Garment industry is now crossing the transitional period. In the last 10 years, the average growth in this sector was 13 percent, in our country there was a growth of below 3 percent. Already 12 hundred factories have been closed in many obstacles. I am not able to do any new industry due to various problems including gas crisis.
