Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has urged the IPU leaders to work together to fight against all social inequalities including poverty, malnutrition and simultaneous terrorism and militancy.
She said, 'The world is moving forward. But one of the main problems of the current world is hunger and malnutrition. Nearly 80 million children in the world suffer from malnutrition. Children in developing countries are lagging behind due to nutritional deficiencies. But on the other hand, a group of people in the world are in abundance. This situation requires little cooperation. If everyone comes forward with the spirit of mutual cooperation, then the world can be hungry for a moment. The Prime Minister said this while announcing the inauguration of the 136th IPU conference held at South Plaza of Parliament House on Saturday evening.
