Comilla City Corporation election was the first test of the new Election Commission with the participation of BNP under the party government.
The EC has passed the examination with a free, fair and impartial election. A fair and acceptable election is possible under the party government - it seems that the leaders of various political parties, including the opposition Jatiya Party, are the top leaders. However, they advised the EC to continue this neutrality in any election.The BNP candidate, Monirul Haque Sakku, was elected mayoral candidate again after defeating Awami League's Anjum Sultana border in the Comilla City Corporation election on Thursday under the supervision of the new EC under the party government without any unpleasant incident.
