Halda river in Chittagong and Savar leather industrial area to take effective measures to prevent pollution.
On Wednesday, the Ministry of Shipping and increase the navigability of the river to prevent pollution of the 34th meeting of the Task Force was informed.Shipping Minister and Chairman of the Task Force Shahajhan Khan presided over the meeting.The Land Minister Shamsur Rahman Sharif, Housing and Public Works Minister Engineer Mosharraf Hossain, Water Resources Minister Ramesh Chandra Sen, President of the Parliamentary Standing Committee was attended by representatives of other ministries.The meeting, at Savar, 43 major tanneries have been transferred so far. The river will arrange a meeting with the religious leaders of the religious establishment. Activities concerning the protection of the river received media publicity, public awareness, and regular inspections to stop construction of illegal structures will be continued.
