An earthquake monitoring center in Germany on Friday in a powerful earthquake
struck the South Atlantic. 7.3 magnitude on the Richter scale. The Potsdam-based German Research Centre for Geosciences said the quake on the island of South Georgia hit the surface at a depth of about 10 kilometers. The area is about one and a half thousand miles off the southern coast of Argentina.
