Munshiganj 400-megawatt coal-fired power plant being set up. It will cost a total of 9
billion 283 million.Gazaria acquisition of 300 acres of land to set up power plant in Munshiganj district, has taken the initiative for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry.This is a project of the Executive Committee of National Economic Council (ECNEC) is expected to be presented to the next meeting. If approved, the project will be implemented by June 2018 Electricity Generation Company of Bangladesh Limited.
In this regard, members of the Planning Commission, the Department of Industry and Energy Zuena Aziz went to the opinion of the Planning Commission, said: "Considering the shortage of gas for power generation 2030, the Bangladesh government has fixed a target of 50 per cent of the coal-fired power generation. The project is in Munshiganj district, about 300 to 400 MW coal-fired power plants an important role in infrastructure planning commission to consider. "
