The cash transactions before Eid, 3 and 4 July the bank has requested Bangladesh to partially open Chambers of Commerce and Industry Federation (Federation).
Merchants Bank has adopted the proposal, said the Federation of Bangladesh President Abdul Matlub Ahmad. In this regard, the central bank governor on Monday met with business leaders Fazle Kabir. Matlub Ahmed told BSS over telephone, "the bank is fully closed, traders will be affected. Eid is a large amount of traffic. It is not possible to keep such a huge amount of money to traders. So we have only two cash transactions, 3 and 4 July, have requested the Bank to partially open.
