Bangladesh have crashed out of the World Twenty20 losing a tense thriller against India by just 1 run in the last over in the Super 10s.
Electing to field first, Bangladesh smartly topped up a fine bowling effort with clever fielding to restrict India to 146 for 7.
Bangladesh bowlers kept India on a tight leash from the outset. The spinners then shone before a late assault from India took them to the total.
Tamim Iqbal (35) gave Bangladesh a good start but Indian bowlers fought back in the mid overs to reduce Bangladesh to 95 for 5.
Mahmudullah and Mushfiqur Rahim then took the match to the last over in which they needed 11 to win.
But then they suffered brain freeze.
Mushfiq cracked two boundaries before inexplicably trying to finish the game with another but holed out at deep midwicket.
With two runs still needed, Mahmudullah made the same mistake and fell in the next ball.
Shuvagata Hom Chowdhury failed to connect the last ball and Mahendra Singh Dhoni took off his gloves and ran in to knock the bails off to catch Mustafizur agonisingly short.
