Restive Indian-controlled Kashmir near the border with Pakistan early Friday, two suspected rebels were killed in a gunfight with the soldiers. A military spokesman said.
Srinagar, Kashmir's main city, about 70 kilometers (about 45 miles) north-west of soldiers and police in an operation launched last night area. Local armed militants hiding in a village in the raids were conducted on hearing the news. AFP news agency reported.
