Myanmar's National League for Democracy (NLD) leader Aung San Suu Kyi is known to
be a close associate of President Thein has been elected as president of the queue. On Tuesday, the president was elected by the votes of the members of parliament. This is the first time in the history of the past 50 years as a civilian head of state of a person found in Myanmar.
