The infant mortality rate decreased by 53 percent compared to the previous five years, according to the UN children's agency, UNICEF.

 

In 1990, 1 million to 7 million children under five years old die every year would have been. But in 2015, the number stands at just six million. However, aid agencies say, much work still remains. Because the United Nations goal to reduce child mortality rates by two-thirds of the bottom has not been achieved yet.
