The election of Bangladesh Bar Council, the central body of all the lawyers, will now be held on May 27 instead of May 20.
The present committee of Bar Council took the decision at an emergency meeting on Tuesday night in the backdrop of arising a question of anomalies in the voter list.
Attorney General Mahbubey Alam, who is also a former officio chairman of the council, presided over the meeting.
Bar Council Secretary Mohammad Altaf Hossain confirmed the news.
Names of 48,465 lawyers have been registered for casting their votes in the election.
