Nur Hossain, the prime accused in the Narayanganj seven murder case, has been expelled from the councillor post of the city corporation.
Local government ministry issued a circular on Sunday removing Nur Hossain from the councillor post of ward No.4 of Narayanganj City Corporation.
A Narayanganj court sentenced Nur Hossain to one-year imprisonment in the case filed under wildlife preservation Act.
He has been expelled as per the section-13 under Local Government (City Corporation) Act-2009.
Nur Hossain is now in an Indian jail following his arrest in Kolkata on June 14. He is facing the charges of entering the country illegally.
Seven men, including former Narayanganj city councillor Nazrul Islam and senior lawyer Chandan Kumar Sarkar, were abducted on Apr 27.
Their bloated bodies were found floating on the Shitalakhyya River several days later.
