First Bangladeshi origin lawmaker in UK parliament Rushanara Ali reelected from Bangali-dominated East London constituency of Bethnal Green seat on Friday, defeating his Conservative Party with a huge margin.
Rushanara, for Labour Party, secured 61 percent-- 32,387 votes – some 24,317 votes more than that of her nearest opponent Matthew Smith of Conservative Party, who got 8,070.
