U.S. Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Wendy Sherman and U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs Nisha Desai Biswal arrived in Dhaka on Thursday afternoon.
Foreign secretary Shahidul Haque received them at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
They are scheduled to join the fourth annual U.S.-Bangladesh Partnership Dialogue programme on Friday.
The different issues including development and good governance, trade and investment, and security cooperation are set to discuss in the dialogue.
Biswal would discuss about enduring political situation of the country. She will also meet the civil society members.
Bangladesh foreign secretary M Shahidul Haque and US Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Wendy R Sherman are set to lead their respective sides in the dialogue of plenary session, to be held on the day.
