Pointing to vandalism at Zia`s grave, BNP Standing Committee Member Lieutenant General (retd) Mahbubur Rahman alleged, "It is a part of conspiracy."
The BNP leader made the comment while visiting the grave area in the capital on Thursday noon.
He said, "Arrest the miscreants and bring them under trial soon who were involved in the vandalism."
Earlier on Thursday night, some unknown miscreants have broken some parts of the grave decor of late President Ziaur Rahman in capital`s Chandrima Uddan.
The incident happened sometimes at last night but the news went viral early Thursday after people witnessed it.
Witnesses said at least 12 marble plates from the main altar of the grave have been pulled out but it is not known that when it happened.
