A Dhaka court has deferred charge hearing against BNP’s acting Secretary General
Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and 28 other leaders and activists of the party in a case field over arson attack and vandalism in 2013. Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Ali Masud Sheikh passed the order on Thursday morning. The magistrate set July 30 for holding hearing on framing of charges against the 29 BNP leaders and activtsts following a time petition filed by defence lawyer Advocate Joynul Abedin Mezbah. The case was filed on March 2 in 2013 in connection with vandalism in Shantibagh area under the Ramna Police Station. Ramna Police Station’s sub-inspector Md Ashfaq Gazi submitted the charge sheet to the court against the 29 BNP leaders in connection with the case on May 14, 2014.
