Pointing to the recently held city polls, Transparency International Bangladesh alleged, "As there were a lot of unlawful acts in the polls, the city corporation polls were not free and fair."
The anti-graft body came up with the statement in a press release on Wednesday, a day after the election was held in the three city corporations.
"The acceptance of the election to the mass was come under question," the body also added.
TIB also points, "The election commission and the law enforcement agencies have failed to conduct a free, fair, credible and peaceful election in the country."
Lots of unlawful activities were happened during the election like-vote rigging, frequent clashes, keeping away the voters from giving their votes, preventions of journalists from performing their duties, the statement, signed by its communication officer Rizwan-ul-Alam, also read.
The statement, however, alleged BNP for their election boycotting in the midst of voting.
