The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) saw sharp decline in the early hours of trading on Wednesday.

DSE, the prime index of the DSE, went down by 39.76 points or 0.96 percent to 4,078.72 after the first 30 minutes of trade at 11:00am.

The two other indices also saw negative trend.

The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, fell 17.23 points or 1.09 percent to 1,550.55 points.

The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) shed 12.39 points or 1.22 percent to stand at 1,001.23 points.

DSE turnover stood at Tk 434 million at 11:00am.

Of the issues traded till then, 35 advanced, 141 declined 16 remained unchanged.

ACI Formulations was the most traded stocks with shares worth Tk 97m changing hands till then followed by United Power, BSRM, SPCL and ACI Ltd.

The port city bourse – CSE – also saw negative trend in early hour with its Selective Category Index – CSCX – losing 39.42 points to 7,654.11 points, also at 11:00am.

Of the issues traded till then, 13 gained, 51 declined and 5 remained unchanged with the turnover value standing at Tk 49m.
